My Gear... PowerShot S60

Many people asked me what camera I use to capture the photos in this blog. Haha... for those friends close to me, they will know the answer immediate, but for those haven't meet before... here is the answer for you.

I am using Canon PowerShot S60, I bought it in Aug 2004 just 1 week after it launched in Malaysia. I was influent by a friend who is using S50. S60 is a semi-pro camera equipped with many manual functions.

I like this stuff quite much, 28mm wide angle, clear display LCD and easy to use. Image quality also not bad. But I think now the version in market S80 is much more powerful.

Here are some photos of my gear...

Sam Poh Tong Temple

I think Sam Poh Tong Temple is quite well known in Malaysia, immediately people will know that is located in Ipoh. My home town, Bidor is not far from Ipoh, I been to Ipoh so many times sice I was young boy.

This temple is located 5km away south from Ipoh town center. More than 40 Buddha statues house in the cave. There is also a pond where visitors can feed tortoises with stalks of vegetables and a wishing well for those seeking better fortunes.

My Camera is Back

Glad to know that my camera has been repaired !! Some more, it's free of charge even the warranty had expired.

According to the service center, the image distortion was caused by the connector which placed at between the CCD and the main board. My camera was Japan version when I bought it just a week after it launched in Malaysia. The connector was not suitable for Malaysia hot temperature, that's why the connector had melted after 2 years. Now they had replace a new connector which can stand for higher heats. Since this was due to the product weakness, so it was FOC. At the same time they also help me to clean up the dust and finger prints on the lense.

From now on, I can go out and capture more photos to share with you all in this blog. Cheers for my recovered camera.
